Been craving for Konnyaku past weeks and after the "nightmare" just now, I have decided to enlighten my day by making konnyaku as "Dessert of the Day".
Bought the Konnyaku Jelly Powder from neighbourhood mini-mart (there're different brands of konnyaku power, this was recommended by a friend) and used the various bento dishes trays instead of konnyaku moulds. Added some golden kiwi and canned fruits.
A little friend of us likes to eat this dessert, especially these various animals moulds of Konnyaku attracted her attention most. Will add "colours" on my next round.
Our good friend, Diana, gave us some mini cupcakes sometime last week. It tasted good. So today, Ling's going to give it a try.
The verdict? It came out moist but bitter. Ling salvaged the situation by cutting some milk chocolates and placed on top of the cupcakes. Our little food-tester ate it, so I guess it's not so bad!
Ling will make this again but will use cocoa powder with less percentage of cocoa.
Ling was browsing through recipes from the internet and came across Edith's "Previous Moments" bloghttp://preciousmoments66.blogspot.com which has positive reviews. Thanks Edith for the wonderful recipe!
The verdict? Simply delicious!
The cake turned out moist and soft. However, it's a bit "gooey" in the middle.
But that's probably due to the microwave oven. Yah, we dont have a proper electric oven. So now we have a good reason to get on :)
Ling said she will definitely make this again.
p/s: By the time, I posted this, Ling & hubby has bought a new oven! Yupee! More cakes experiments in the future!
Ling baked muffins for the first time. She wanted it to be "fool-proof", so she used the "Golden Premix Muffin"(bought fromhttp://www.phoonhuat.com/). It turned out quite good and the texture was moist & soft for a muffin.
For the kids, she added chocolate buttons and dried apricot for adults.
Awaken by a "nightmare" that I had "+" sign on the weighing scale! Hence, decided to have a good start on 1st day of the month (wonderful Sunday morning). (先听着,哈哈,greedy me!)
Made 2 sets of mixed veggie salad for both Ling & I ^.^
