Lunar New Year Goodies 农历新年曲奇餅

Time flies, is gonna be less than a month for those who are celebration Chinese New Year.  A brand new year to welcome longevity, wealth and prosperity.  

We believe most of us are busy preparing for spring cleaning,  getting new clothing and even stock up new year goodies to welcome this Water Dragon year!

Same goes here, we are introducing some homemade goodies to ease your 'headache', ready for your invited relatives and guests who are visiting you during this Spring Festival.

A new Almond Cookies is specially 'designed' for this Chinese New Year.

"My Melody" Butter Cake 牛油蛋糕

I am a fan of "My Melody" since childhood and had few collections of this character.  

Ling's baked this lovely birthday cake specially for me on my birthday today!

Hello Kitty found in the 'Black Forest' ?? 黑森林蛋糕

Our good friend, Karen's birthday falls on Christmas Day.  
Ling has baked a Black Forest Cake and piped the outline of Hello Kitty on the cake.
On Christmas Eve, after the Christmas gift exchange among the kids, we presented the Hello Kitty Black Forest Cake to her.  She was surprised with the 'unknown arrangement', and thanked Ling for the cake.

Christmas Cupcakes 聖誕杯子蛋糕

My dearest cousin, MG has just recently seen the Christmas Chocolate Chip cupcakes and she has requested for this similar theme cupcakes as dessert for this evening Christmas celebration at her house.

Suggested Chocolate Chip & Apple Pecan so that the guests could try 2 different flavours of cupcakes.
Ling has also made additional 'designs' (eg : reindeer) apart from the icing figurines. 

Other than own family members, there were invited friends' as well.  All of them like the cupcakes and commented : Great!

European Apple Pecan Cupcake 欧洲苹果山核桃杯子蛋糕

It was about 3 weeks ago that Ling has baked the European Apple Pecan cupcakes, most of us like it very much.

Ling's lovely dad had the chance to taste these delicious cupcakes during his recent trip to Singapore.

She used the newly bought cupcake liners.

Mango Mousse Cake 芒果慕斯蛋糕

Back by popular demand.  Good news for Mango Lovers out there!  

Ling has baked another round of Mango Mousse Cake.

Too excited to taste it, but everyone has to be patient as Ling has to freeze it up and carry on some baking steps before we could taste it. 

Baked diced almond were added on the side of the cake.  Wow... is real yummy!

Generally, this cake is on higher demand by the adults than children.

Black Forest Cake 黑森林蛋糕

Is the baker, Ling drunk again, baking the Black Forest Cake?  Remember what's the cake named after?

Ling's definitely NOT drunk, our good friend, Diana's hubby loves to eat this cake.  Ling baked an additional so that our family members could taste it too.

Her princess couldn't wait to get her hands on the cake but was advised to wait a little longer as the cake needs to be chilled first.   The home tutor came right on time when we are about to cut the cake, she likes this cake too.

Ling filled the cakes with pitted dark sweet cherries, looks extremely delicious!

The 7inch cake was cut into 9 pieces, Ling and I had only managed to taste a small portion of it.  The rest was devoured by her princess :) 

Most of us dislike the sweetened cherries, so we decorated with the colourful milk chocolate lentils.

Green Tea Red Bean Cake 绿茶红豆蛋糕

Ling has baked Green Tea Chocolate Chip Cake previously and most of them like the combination well.  

Today, she baked Green Tea Red Bean Cake instead.

European Apple Pecan Cupcake 欧洲苹果山核桃杯子蛋糕

Yummy European Apple Pecan cake is back in demand!

Ling baked it in cupcakes today.

Our good friend, Karen and her children were here and they had the chance to taste the cupcakes too!

Pandan Chiffon Cake 班蘭薄綢蛋糕

The Pandan Chiffon Cake has been classified under 'popular demand' category by the children and adults.

Ling baked this cake just less than 10 days ago which was finished up not more than few minutes by the kids.  
Today, she doubled up the cake batter and filled up everyone's stomach. LOL ~~~

Chocolate Chip Cupcake ~ Baby Full Month Celebration Theme

We have a special request from Michelle, my good friend's sister who will be attending baby Gabrian's full month celebration.

Ling has baked chocolate chip cupcakes and decorated them with fondant. 

Take a closer look on the baby bib, pram, milk bottle, baby shoes, etc.  They are basically very cute and presentable - Michelle commented when she collected the gifts. 

These cupcakes boxes are a little costly, however, they are much presentable than other 'close up' ordinary cake boxes.  Agree?

Lemon Butter Cake 柠檬奶油蛋糕

Linda had an idea to give a 'gift box' cake to our good friend, Sharon who are celebrating her 40th birthday coming November.

Linda decided to request Ling to bake one for her.
Ling baked a lemon butter cake and decorated with white fondant, fondant pressed flowers and colourful droplets.  

An early birthday celebration for Sharon today, we had dinner over at Ma Maison Restaurant and followed by Karaoke at K Suites.

We surprised Sharon by presenting the homemade 'gift box' cake to her right before the end of the Karaoke session.  

Sharon was happy and loves her 'gift box' cake very much.  Linda & Katherine had tasted and commented good and Sharon brought a small portion home for her prince and princess.

Pandan Chiffon Cake 班蘭薄綢蛋糕

There are few requests this week, I was out to replenish some baking supplies @ Phoon Huat.   Ling was baking a pandan chiffon cake when I was out to the shop.

Guess what'd when I was back home??!!

No pandan smell and not even a piece of chiffon cake found at the kitchen! 

The cake was "stored" in these few people's tummy ~~~ Ling's mother-in-law, her two lovely kids and a friend, D who came over for exam revision with Ling's daughter.

Ling managed to grab one to taste...

She prepared for another round of bake and finally I had the chance to taste the soft and moist pandan chiffon cake!  Yyuuuuppppeeee!
