Vintage Tea Party 茶会

Ling and I were invited to Vintage Tea Party hosted by Karen & Judy this afternoon.
K & J requested for some pastries and Ling baked Peach Cream Cheese Puff, Muffin, Butter Cake and Cupcakes for this occassion.
This vintage tea party was successful and vintage collectors have filled up their empty shopping bags with items that they like.

Pandan Kaya Cake 斑蘭咖央蛋糕

Wow wow wow... I could only grab the last piece of this delicious pandan kaya cake which Ling made it just awhile ago.
A quick snap of the cake and I sat down to enjoy the great taste of it. Yummy!

Sweet Corn Cake 甜玉米蛋糕

Any sweet corn lover?
Sweet corn can be prepared in different recipes, such as steamed, BBQ, soup, kuih but today Ling has made use of the sweet corn to bake a cake!
I love to eat corn kuih prepared by my Indonesian grandaunty years ago!  Though I missed the kuih, but is rather costly to pay for S$1 for a small miserable piece of it @ BS.

Black Forest Cake 黑森林蛋糕

Ling's drunk because of too much of the specialty liquor - Schwarzwälder Kirsch (wasser), from the region of Southwestern Germany?
No, No, No ~~~ The baker is definately not drunk, she's baking Black Forest cake which named after this specialty liquor.

Doreamon Sponge Cake 哆啦A夢松糕 。ドラえもんケーキ

Time flies, J turned 3 today!
Last year, Ling baked cars & trucks fondant cake for her prince.  This year, Ling's decided on J's favourite carton character ~ Doreamon sponge cake.
She decorated the cake with fresh cream and some numeric gummies.

Rainbow Swiss Roll with Chocolate & Strawberry Jam 彩虹瑞士捲。巧克力。草莓果酱

Dont blink your eyes, look out for the "Rainbow" out there!
Ling's baked rainbow swiss rolls with chocolate and strawberry jam, all tastes equally nice!

"Smiley" Kungfu Panda 功夫熊貓便当

It has been ages I have yet prepared any charabento, ~~~ simple reason : no mood!
Browsing through photos taken weeks ago, has little inspiration to make a simple Kungfu Panda bento for breakfast today.
Used bamboo charcoal sandwich and white bread for the panda and filled with cheese.

Pandan Kuih Koci 班蘭裹糍

Those who are familiar with nyonya kuih would have tasted the pandan kuih koci.  The kuih are wrapped with banana leaves in an upturned cone.
These sweet and savoury dumplings are made with glutinous rice pastry and filled with  fried grated coconut.

Citrus + Pandan + Banana Chiffon Cakes 柑橘。班蘭。香蕉薄綢蛋糕

It has been quite sometime Ling has yet baked Chiffon cakes.  The one she baked months ago was the Pandan Chiffon Cake last August 2010.
Today she baked 2 additional flavours, citrus & banana.  The improved texture was great and taste great!

Coffee Sponge Cake 咖啡松糕

A simple coffee sponge cake baked by Ling's mum today.

Cocoa Sponge Cake 可可粉松糕

Ling's mum likes to bake and cook during her leisure. 
Aunty baked 2 flavours of  sponge cakes, namely cocoa and coffee.
The cocoa sponge cake tastes nicely compared to coffee flavour.
