Banana Chocolate Chip Cake

This cake is back by 'popular demand'.
As mentioned on the recent bake,  half of the cake was gone before I could even snap some photos.
I could get better photos today ~ the kids were not in while the cake was ready to serve! Hehe ~
Ling used plain flour today instead of cake flour for this bake, seems that it tastes better with cake flour.  Oopss... the kids are back in action!

Banana Chocolate Chip Cake

Don't judge a book by its cover likewise don't judge a cake by its exterior!
Another new recipe of the week ~ Banana Chocolate Chip Cake by Ling.
Everyone love the cake very much, the kids love the chocolate chips.  Before I could even snap a few shots, half of it was gone!

Musical Notes Bento

Recently my god-daughter and I attended keyboard lessons at the neighbourhood music school and she introduced this to her good friend at her class.
Last evening, she reminded that she's to attend an art project organised by the School Art Club next morning.
She suggested to make an additional light snack bento for her good friend ~ R, as well.
Music, music, music ...... so I have decided on musical notes bento instead.
R was impressed though it's just a simple bento as she's not seen charaben previously.

Rainbow Durian Swiss Roll 彩虹榴莲瑞士捲

Is tropical fruits seasons now and we couldn't resist our favourite fruits namely, durian, rambutan, mangosteen, longan, lycee, etc.  One of our favourites is durian.
We bought some to eat and made some into durian puree, spread it onto the swiss roll.
The swiss roll was placed into refrigerator and served after hours later.
Wow, 超好吃 ~~~        It taste super delicious!

Little Frog, Rabbit & Bear Sandwich Bento

Last evening, my god-daughter has requested to have a bento as she has to attend Maths trail @ Terminal 3 this afternoon.
I took out these 3 little cute bread cutters which Ling bought me as my birthday gift last winter.
Have decided to wake up early this morning to prepare a simple charaben for her, but I was 'OVERSLEPT'!
Fortunately, Ling woke up much earlier and manage to prepare nutella & tuna sandwiches for her daughter instead.
She shared with her classmate R who was amazed with the little imprints on the sandwiches.

Dim Sum Bento 点心小便当

It's been years we'd yet had our breakfast at Toa Payoh hawker centre.  Finally, we went there for some marketing and breakfast yesterday.  Managed to join in the long queue to buy the steamed buns (包子) .
Our friend Diana given us her homemade shumai (烧卖); given me some ideas to fix up a simple bento.
I decided to packed this Dim Sum (点心) bento to work; shared this with a colleague and she likes it very much.

Mango Lover

Any Mango Lovers out there?
Most of us love this tropical fruit.  Out at the supermarket or market, you can easily get mangoes during its season.  If you are lucky, you might get sweet ones.  The last round we had very sour mangoes, yucky... !
I am a crazy mango lover!
Usually we sliced the mangoes, chilled in a tupperware before serving.
Most of us love mangoes.  Today, we are not only eating the sliced mangoes, but is a nicely baked Mango Cake by Ling!  She layered slices of mango on top of the cake.

Egg Mayonnaise & Fruits

Time flies 时间不饶人!  Another Monday morning ~~~ After the long weekend, a fresher day to start with a simple egg mayonnaise with veggies, mini sandwiches with butter spread and some fruits.
This is my 7th day at work and managed to make this charaben.
It's no exception a busy Monday to move on for the rest of the week, lots of documents to be sorted out and I was home late again! (Missed the yummy pumpkin soup that Ling prepared today)
It's been awhile I have not worked longer hours for a 5day week, but simply enjoying this new environment.

Salad & Fruit

After sending my god-daughter to school this morning, I decided to prepare a very simple salad for breakfast with the leftover red capsicum, Japanese cucumber, carrots, red cabbage and sweet corns.

Today, I used one new 'nori puncher' which Ling bought from Cake DIY, Hong Kong during her recent trip.  They are unlike other nori/craft punchers, didnt give a complete cut as mentioned by Karen.  I tried using the "crispy" seaweed, somehow it turned out "ok" with little 'hiccups'.
